Rodney S. Diggs is a Partner at Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs. He is Co-Chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group, which focuses on harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour issues and claims with the Labor Commissioner’s Board on behalf of his clients. He also handles civil rights litigation. Rodney is a practiced litigator with substantial experience trying cases to verdict in both federal and state courts. Rodney became a Partner at Ivie, McNeill & Wyatt in 2016. In 2019, Rodney became a named partner when the firm changed its name to Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, Rodney clerked for the Honorable Patti Jo McKay, Presiding Judge for the Appellate Division for the Los Angeles Superior Court. Rodney has obtained over $200 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients in his eleven years of being an attorney. In addition to his corporate practice, Rodney has had notable successes with assisting individuals in need of representation. Rodney’s significant achievements include recently obtaining a $25M verdict as lead counsel in an Employment Retaliation lawsuit. Rodney believes it may be the largest retaliation verdict against a school district. He obtained a $9.1 million verdict in a wrongful death case against the City of Long Beach. This was the largest verdict in history against the City of Long Beach and the second largest verdict in a wrongful death case in the Central District of California. Rodney has obtained over $200 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. Rodney was selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America (2023 Edition).
