After nearly 10 years at 2 leading global firms, Armand (a member of the Paris and New York bars) set up TERRIEN AVOCAT, a dispute resolution boutique focused on high-stakes arbitrations and arbitration-related proceedings in Paris in 2020.
Armand regularly acts as arbitrator and counsel in arbitrations under the aegis of all major arbitral institutions (ICC, OHADA, ICSID, LCIA, AFA, SCAIā¦). He also regularly acts in set-aside proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal.
Armand is recognized for his dispute resolution expertise in post-M&A disputes and in the renewable energy sector across Europe, the Mediterranean, and Africa. He also has particular expertise in art-related disputes, and has acted in disputes governed by French, English and New York law, as well as various other laws, in tax, energy, real estate and construction disputes.
In 2021, he secured a landmark victory, convincing the Paris Court of Appeal to dismiss the first challenge to an ICC award rendered during the COVID pandemic.
Current representations include a variety of disputes (both commercial and investment), out of Paris, Geneva, and London.
He is a current co-chair of the French under 40 arbitration group (CFA-40), and is listed on the European Commission panel of arbitrators as well as appearing on the pool of arbitrators of major arbitration institutions. He regularly lectures on international arbitration at leading French law schools, and is widely published on the topic. He also maintains an active pro-bono practice assisting victims of human trafficking.
