GMT Economics - Abuse of Dominance
Dr Claudio Calcagno specialises in applying microeconomics to competition cases. Since starting to work as a professional economist in 2004, he has held senior roles at leading economic consultancies, before founding GMT Economics in 2021.
He advises clients on matters including agreements, abuse of dominance, market inquiries, mergers and private litigation. He has worked across most sectors (with a recent emphasis on platforms and financial services) and has supported clients before authorities and courts in Europe, Africa, North America and Australasia.
Claudio has published in international peer-reviewed journals, and is a co-author of the textbook Exclusionary Practices: The Economics of Monopolisation and Abuse of Dominance.
He regularly presents at conferences and lectures on competition economics and policy topics on several academic and executive education programmes.
He is also fluent in Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
