ByrneWallace LLP - Litigation Lawyer of the Year
Jon Legorburu is Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department at ByrneWallace LLP, and is one of Ireland’s leading public sector and commercial litigation lawyers. He is also one of Ireland’s foremost practitioners in the areas of regulatory investigations as well as corporate and white collar crime, responsible for anchoring large-scale project-based investigations and legal proceedings in the financial services, health, and insurance sectors.
Jon’s recent work has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 response, where he acted for the Irish State Health Agency and the Department of Health in relation to a cyber-attack on their health system. He also had a leading role in the public and private surge arrangements that saw the private and public systems integrated.
Jon advises clients on litigation and dispute resolution matters as well as high profile, strategic and organisational matters, which often involve the delivery of mission-critical advices involving a number of cross-cutting legal areas and specialisms. These matters range from individual case management to litigation risk, organisation-wide initiatives, policy transformation, governance and risk management, and funding issues.
Before joining ByrneWallace LLP in 2010, Jon worked in Slaughter and May in the United Kingdom, and Chapman Tripp in New Zealand.
