Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards 2022 Carlye was admitted to practise as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1999 and is an experienced banking in-house lawyer. Carlye is currently a legal team head in the Legal and Compliance Department of China Minsheng Banking Corp. Ltd., Hong Kong Branch (CMBC). She is primarily responsible for providing legal services and supports to all departments of the bank, including: drafting and reviewing various complicated legal documents; giving advice on deal structures; establishing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; developing management systems and controls and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements under all applicable ordinances, rules and regulations; supporting the bank for debt recovery matters and giving advice on debt recovery proposals; and assisting external counsels, liquidators and receivers in charge of insolvency, bankruptcy and debt restructuring matters. As a result of her duties, Carlye has in-depth knowledge and solid experience in the areas of banking and finance as well as debt recovery, restructuring and insolvency. Carlye has served as in-house counsel of several Chinese banks, including retail and corporate banks, for over 14 years. With this experience, Carlye can fully understand how the banking industry operates and is able to think ahead so as to offer her employers accurate, timely and practical solutions. Needless to say, her experience gained in crossbroader matters also adds to her expertise.
