ABOUT HELEN Helen Lightstone Founder - Lightstone Academy for Conflict Resolution www.lightstoneacademy.ca DISPUTE RESOLUTION EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR Helen Lightstone is the founder of Lightstone Academy for Conflict Resolution, and is a mediator, educator, licensed paralegal, and college professor. Helen is both a Chartered Mediator and a Qualified Arbitrator. She has mediated two-party and multiparty disputes in various contexts, including breach of contract, community, personal injury, sexual assaults, victim-offender, and workplace conflicts. After earning her paralegal license in 2008, Helen received her certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from York University and then earned her Master of Laws (LL.M) in Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2017. She has taught ADR for the Department of National Defence and to police officers in Belize with Riverdale Mediation. Helen coaches at Osgoode Hall Law School in their Master of Laws, Dispute Resolution program. Lightstone Academy for Conflict Resolution is proud to have three accredited courses by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario, the introductory Essentials (40 hours), the advanced Quintessentials (40 hours), and, Media Studies and Conflict Resolution (21 hours). Both the Essentials and the Quintessentials are offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to study at their own pace.
